Terav (2006)Terav is a stage-based 2D scrolling tank shooter with some reasonably clever original elements. It may be the most acclaimed freeware title I have released. This game has a strong focus on robust gameplay and cool vector graphics-- more than the screenshots betray. Additionally, some people claim that it is too hard to be enjoyable. Sorry. There are competitive online hiscores so you can compete with the rest of the world. Better scores will unlock cooler tanks, a hotter difficulty mode, and some other secrets. Terav was among the titles featured in a 2010 issue of c't magazine, which is apparently a big deal. Reviews"Better than the two earlier offerings from PopCap and Jagged Blade Software." - Independent Gaming "...a game I keep coming back to, convinced I'll eventually get through..." - GameHippo.com "Less skillful players may find more frustration than fun from this game, as it is overly difficult and merciless. For others, this game is absolutely a must-play." - GameMakerGames.com Inducted on July 1st, 2006 into the Cage Match Hall of Fame at the Game Maker Community. "Je suis mega fan!!" - Le blog de Kroco et Cassie (The article seems to have been taken down-- which is too bad, because this is my favorite quote about Terav) |
